How to apply
Parents can access all the information they need and can make an application for a primary school place at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/admissions. Applying online is quick, safe and secure and parents will receive confirmation that the application has been received; the application can be viewed at any time online and applicants can check or change the application at any time before the deadline.
Application to Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) must be made before your application to St Thomas More School can be considered by the Governors. If you live outside Hertfordshire at the time of application, you should apply through your home Local Authority.
Additional Information required by our Admissions panel
As St Thomas More School is a Voluntary Aided School, the admission criteria are those of the Governing Body.
Completion of the Supplementary Information Form (below) is essential and must be sent directly to St Thomas More School along with the additional supporting documentation in order for the Governors to consider your application.
When the admissions process for your child’s intake begins, an application pack will be available to download below, or from the school office.
Please ensure your application includes:
- The Supplementary Information Form, (SIF) completed
- A Certificate of Catholic Practice, completed (where applicable) - available from your priest at the parish where you worship
- A copy of your child’s baptism certificate (where applicable)
- Original verification of proof of address (2 original documents required)
The application must be submitted to the school by the deadline specified by HCC.
If St Thomas More School is not your first ranked school but you have listed it, you should still complete the school’s application and return it to us by the HCC deadline.
After allocation day
All successful applicants to St Thomas More School will receive a Welcome Pack at the beginning of June. This will include an invitation to our Visit Morning for parents, which will take place on (date tbc) . We advise that parents and children keep this morning free. There is also an opportunity for the children to meet their future classmates on (date tbc). We strongly recommend that parents and children keep these mornings free.
