INSTUCTIONS FOR Y3 AND Y4 CHILDREN

  1. Look at the support sheet which has lots of words and phrases you will hear in the video clip.
  2. While you’re watching the video clip, tick carefully next to each word and phrase each time you hear it.
  3. In your exercise book write your own short conversation in French between 2 children.

Using the support sheet to help you, include some greetings.

The 2 children also ask each other’s name and where they live.

Good morning,

Hope you are very well and enjoying yourself outdoors in sunshine and also with home learning.

Please carry on following BBC Bitesize and if you like some extra challenge carry on completing our additional tasks.

We have received some more fabulous work this week, thank you for sending it over.

English

Carry on using BBC Bitesize, this week you will look at developing descriptive language for poetry.

For those who like a bit extra writing, there is a poetry unit of work attached. It is planned for three weeks, but it may take longer or shorter, it depends how fast you like to do it. It is called 'Lockdown' and it's one of Talk for Writing units.

Please find all resources attached below, there is a breakdown overview as well, some of the resources are also available as audio.

Start practising your new set of spellings.

Remember to read daily, you can use ebooks from a county library online or Oxford Owl https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page.

Maths

Complete Bitesize tasks to practise ordering, adding and subtracting fractions.

Again, there are some explanation clips in White Rose unit.

Please find some extra worksheets attached below, if you like to do some additional practise.

Some of you will need to carry on using Year 1 or 2 work, if Year 3 is too challenging at the moment.

Use Mathletics or TT Rock Stars daily to gain more confidence across different areas of Maths, on Friday you can practise speed with which you recall your timetables, if your parents can print the worksheets off ( all attached under TT Rock Stars button in Year 3). Choose the timetables you need to work on, in Year 3 you should know 2,3,4,5,8 and 10 time tables.

Science  - Teeth and Digestion

This week we are following BBC bitesize unit.

RE - Being Christians - St. Paul.

We are looking at St. Paul as a character, what changed him from a person, who hated Christians, to one of the most significant Christian saint.

Some of you have heard his famous 'hymn of love', so you recognise it in our presentation below.

Try to join the online Mass celebrated by the Cardinal on Thursday at 11:30 am, as it is a special mass for children.

Carry on exercising with Joe Wicks, doing other sport activities, Yoga or 'Just Dance' on Youtube.

Enjoy your week,

Mrs Anderton and Mrs Onion
