Eco Club
We have started to develop our school garden and have installed three raised beds to grow vegetables. This year we grew potatoes in one bed, fennel, lettuce and beetroot in another and leeks in the other. We have also planted cabbages and spinach along the side of the garden. Unfortunately with such a wet summer the slugs seem to have had a feast on the cabbages and they are rather damaged. We have also planted herbs in some old tyres. We also have the hens in the garden where they are safe from the fox.
We are growing more plants to encourage bees and butterflies into the garden and we made bird feeders to hang from the tree.
BUG HOTEL
Year 4 made a bug hotel to encourage minibeasts to overwinter.
